About this farmstay

Mama is ‌in the beautiful Phyang village surrounded by lush green fields, tall poplar trees, and mountains surrounding the property. It is a passive solar-heated building that takes advantage of a building’s location and climate with the use of materials such as earth and local resources leading to low or almost no use of energy for heating all throughout the day while providing sufficient natural light. Enjoy the front patio overlooking the beautifully landscaped mountains, green space area, and towering Stok Kangri. They grow organically most of the produce that makes it to your plate in their kitchen garden.

Hotel Policies

Stay Policy


All guests must have a valid photo I.D. to be shown at the time of check-in. The following documents are only considered valid I.D. proofs — Passport, Driving License, Voter ID Card & Aadhaar Card. Check-In time is 11:00 am and Check-Out Time is 10 a.m. Early check-in or late check-out can be arranged if informed in advance.This might be chargeable depending on the availability. The guests cannot hand over the room to a third person, even if the period for which the guest paid has not yet expired. If you cancel the booking 72 hours prior to your check-in time, the amount paid is non-refundable. As such, we request you to plan your travel accordingly. No-show or early check-out will be liable for no refunds. For pay-at-farmstays bookings, we accept only cash payments. Unfortunately, as of now, we are unable to accept credit or debit cards or other forms of online payments at the farmstay property. We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity, or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake/error. We request you to honor the house rules. Any guest found violating the above rules will be subjected to immediate cancellation of the entire booking without refunds and settlement of the full and final bill. The management and the hosts reserve the right to cancel the booking in case of any violations. Personal belongings left by the guests in the room/farmstay upon leaving shall be sent to the address indicated by the guests at their expense. If no instructions are left, belongings will be stored by the hosts for 6 months. We hope you have a wonderful time in Ladakh and enjoy your stay with your Ladakhi hosts!


House Rules


Please observe and inform your hosts about any damage to the property or installations within 1 hour of checking in. There will be a complete check of the farm stay room as per 'List of Installations' upon checkout and any damages noted will be payable at the time of checkout. Please be respectful towards the host family and the villagers. The farmstay will provide towels, blankets and bed linen. In case the linen is required to be changed, please request your farmstay hosts for the same. Breakfast timings are 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM. Lunch timings are 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Dinner timings are 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Please note that the hosts usually have farm work during the day, and it will be difficult for them to manage food without prior notice. Ladakhi villages have a very quiet ambience. As such, we request the guests to keep the music/sound volume to a moderate level after 8pm. Please check with your hosts if the consumption of alcohol is allowed within the premises. Smoking is prohibited in the rooms and common areas inside the farmstay. Please check with your hosts before inviting other people to stay over. For disposal of non-biodegradable hygiene product waste like diapers, sanitary pads, etc. kindly consult your farmstay hosts. We request you not to deposit them in the compost toilets. In general, we request you to understand how Ladakhi compost toilets function so you face no issues during your stay at the farm stay. We request usage of Dry Toilets to save water. Arms and ammunition are not allowed within the house premises. We have a strict no drugs policy. Please do not carry any illegal drugs with you. Suspicions of any illegal activity will be reported to the police. Please check with your hosts if pets are allowed within the premises before planning your stay. Ladakh faces a scarcity of water so we request our guests to be judicious with their water consumption. We also request you to be environmentally conscious during your stay. Please ensure you collect and dispose the recyclable rubbish, minimize the use of plastic and switch off the lights when not in use. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We discourage the use of plastic and expect our guests to minimise the use of the same. Packaged drinking water bottles are prohibited. Clean filtered drinking water is provided and can be refilled in reusable water bottles. We follow a “no shoes inside the house” policy. Guests should not sit on the local tables (Choktse) Please understand the dress code and follow it while visiting any temple or monastery. Local glacial streams are used by locals for potable water consumption. Please help us keep them clean. We assume no responsibility for the loss or damage of valuables; kindly ensure safekeeping of your belongings. You can use your own locks for the rooms to safeguard your valuables. Any kind of unruly behavior is not tolerated and the guest will be evicted if found so, without being entitled to any refund or damages. Ladakhpas welcome their guests with a smile and a greeting “Julley”. Start practicing the same as it will become your go-to word during the stay!!
